Why does GLISA charge membership dues?
Your membership dues ensure and make it possible for GLISA, a student chapter of the American Library Association, to continue operations. GLISA is a non-profit organization. Your membership dues are used to benefit TWU-SLIS students in our programs and events, including:
- sending a GLISA representative to the annual ALAconference
- sending a GLISA representative to the annual TxLA conference
- sponsoring a GLISA get-together at the annual Fall Forum for SLIS at the TWU campus
- purchasing office supplies and other necessary expenditures
- maintaining and operating the GLISA website
GLISA is aware of the financial limitations of our student members and strives to keep the membership dues as reasonable as possible. We thank you for your support.
